Volunteering The very nature of volunteering your choice should be with a charitable organisation (not a mainstream employer). Don’t forget that if you choose to help in a younger Scout section you will need to complete at least one module of the Young Leader training scheme

Programme Planners are available in eDofE (in the Resource Zone) for you to print out. They’ll help you work out what you want to do, how and where you can do it and set your goals. Decide who will be your section assessors (they cannot be a member of your family) and agree your programme and aims with them. Once you are happy, set your timescales and complete the programme aims and goals in eDofE. Your Leader (or District DofE adviser) must approve that your choices are in the right section and that you’ve set yourself enough of a challenge. Your Leader will check that your Assessor |

Bronze timescales: · Volunteering section: 3 months · Physical section: 3 months · Skills section: 3 months · Expedition section: 2 days/1 night · You also have to do 3 more months in one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections. |

Silver timescales: · Volunteering section: 6 months · Physical and Skills sections: One section for 6 months and the other section for 3 months · Expedition section: 3 days/2 nights If you didn't do Bronze, you must undertake a further 6 months in either the Volunteering or the longer of the Physical or Skills sections. |
